Bodysnatchers is built on the creative partnership of Mark Rogers and Sanja Simic. Uncompromising and aesthetically rich, our work is dedicated to engaging the imagination, senses and passions of theatre audiences, and to expanding the notion of what constitutes text-based theatre. We aim to work with challenging formulations of dramatic language, both new and old, to make sinuous, intelligent and visually stunning theatre that reflects (however fragmented) the world we live in and the people we are.
PLASTIC by MARK ROGERS
Plastic takes the high-stakes world of science publishing and creates an allegory for a world in crisis. One-third satire and two-thirds psychodrama, Plastic sinks its teeth in morality, the modern world, and a fierce desire to succeed at all costs.
DEBRIS BY DENNIS KELLY
A father’s crucifixion. A mother’s joy. An abandoned baby, found in a trash heap. Award winning playwright Dennis Kelly gives us a fractured glimpse at an urban dystopia, as imagined by two tormented, disturbed and uniquely violent minds.
encounter BY KIRBY MEDWAY
This is the story of a woman in a suburban park. It is a story containing a terrifying truth; monsters are real. Conspiracy theorist Kirby Medway has spawned this narrative, an eyewitness account of a life-changing supernatural visitation.
GOBBLEDYGOOK BY MARK ROGERS
A duet for a lone woman and her iPhone, Gobbledygook is a tour de force solo performance that examines the apparatuses our lives are filtered through; the mess of signal, frequency and wire.
BLOOD PRESSURE BY MARK ROGERS
Michael is late. Adam keeps vomiting. Two men face off in a hotel room. They mark each other with new scars, while tearing apart the old. Blood is shed. This claustrophobic new play looks at the intimacy of kinship, the fragility of the body, and the phantom limbs of family.
SOOTHSAYERS BY MARK ROGERS
A world premiere production in three parts, Soothsayers takes us across borders, war-zones and flooded cities where change is inevitable and trust is scarce. Responding to catastrophic world events, each act is set in the shocked aftermath of a crisis.
